A lot of government employees take long vacations in December because their vacations days don't roll over to the next year. So if your officer went on a 3 week vacation, then they were 3 weeks behind in January.
Also, remember these are government employees.. they don't get rewarded by how fast they can move their case file but their promotions come from how long they've been there, who they know etc. so there is no incentive for them to hurry.
That is what I am assuming is going on. Unless you've hit your 6 month mark past biometrics there is really no reason to panic. Just have to waiiiiiiiit.
