When exactly will my AP documents be checked/stamped? In Mex or airport in USA?

Aside from AP docs and Passport do I also take SSC and Employment card?

Can my sister go with me to the Visitors lane or must she go to the US Citizen line?

Thank in advance, just a little nervous and excited.
Those are great questions. I'm leaving on Friday to Guadalajara.

From what I've been reading. The airport in Mexico will check your passport and AP document. However, they could only make a copy of the document. The AP will get stamped in US airport as well as your passport.

I'm taking my DL, EAD, copy of my 821d, AP docs. I dont think I will take my SSN card. Maybe someone could give better insight on this.

As for you and your sister, you should ask the officer. I heard often they would let you go into the US citizen line because you are traveling with a U.S citizen relative.

Good luck. Im also excited and nervous.

Thank you for taking the time to answer. I will add the 821d copy to list.

Good Luck on your trip to Guadalajara!

Hey everyone! I have another thread going with this same topic but I thought I'd post here to go get multiple opinions... Here's my case in a nutshell...

EWI at the age of four by my parents.
They somehow paid someone to get me a legit social security number but the card says not valid for work without INS approval.
They also paid someone to get me my driver's license, also legit... I had to do all that's required with hours, classes, road and written test, etc.
Started working with SS number at legit jobs and paid taxes each year I worked.
DACA approved in 2014.
AP approved and left the country and came back recently.
I've been with my husband who is a USC for over 8 years and married for over 2.
Now I'm about to put together the green card application packet with my lawyer.
My lawyer lives across the state from me so I would have to pay him extra to handle the travel cost of coming to my city for the interviews.. He seems to think that because of all my special cases and having been unlawfully in the country and worked technically illegally that the chances of me getting approved for a green card would be better with him present.

I'm getting my packet together with my lawyer and I'm wondering whether or not to pay to have him be there at the interview or not. I'm EWI but daca approved and have a stamp on my passport for my AP entry back into the U.S. Since I was EWI by my parents at age 4, I've obviously accrued lots of years of unlawful stay and also worked with my social security card that wasn't INS approved to work. But I've paid taxes for every year I worked and have been married to my USC husband for over 2 years. I just want to know what the interview process is like and if a lawyer's presence helps.

Does anyone else have similar circumstances where your green card got approved without a lawyer?

Any responses are much appreciated!

Hey!

I've travelled with AP 4 times already. You will need to go through immigrations- DO NOT go through the US citizen line. The first time I traveled I brought all my documents, but they really just check your AP. Basically when you land back in the US and go through immigration, you'll have your fingers scanned and pass the officer your AP. They will take you into the secondary screening room where they will stamp your AP. They may or may not ask questions- I guess it depends on the officer and how they're feeling at the time. Then you're free to go!

Safe and happy travels!

Keldreams. You and i are in teh same boat. However, i have decided not to use a lawyer and illegal work is not inadmissable when applying thru your USC spouse. I plan to submit my packet next week. we should cross pollinate prior to doing so.

Hello,

Last month I applied for Advance Parole for Humanitarian reasons and I was approved this month. I am going back to my country after 12 long years, as many of you can imagine I am freaking out about the whole trip. I know I can easily leave the US and I'm sure I'll have a good time with my family, the thing that worries me is about coming back to the US.

Has anyone gone to a country in South America? Are they familiar with what Advance Parole is? Would they give me a hard time when leaving the country over there? What sorts of things would they ask me over there?

Can someone please share a little bit of your experience when leaving the country over there?

It would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Haha! Cross pollinate.. Sounds good! I hope that's how the case officer feels. I thought about just applying without a lawyer but since he's handled my case from day one, I'm more comfortable going through his firm. It is comforting to read on forums here that lots of people were able to adjust status doing the paperwork themselves. I'm supposed to get the paperwork from my lawyer this week. I'll keep an update going on here.
