Just had a meeting with the dean of faculty of the college where I work... next thursday is my last day. They will hire me back as soon as I have any sort of notice that my EAD was approved, but until then, I am actually terminated and although the re-hire process is simple, I'll have to go through it.

133 days and not biometrics...

On a brighter note, I called the USCIS Customer Svc Center, and asked for the "ELIS helpdesk" (the lady pronounced it as E-LISS), was transferred and within 2 minutes had my access code to view my case details online. It shows nothing's happened since 4/20, but at least I can see it.

On these e-requests I did, I just noticed that my most recent one ends in VSC unlike the previous ones.
Does anyone know what that means? I know VSC means Vermont Service Center, but does this mean my case was transferred there? Is this good or bad?

That's exactly what I was going to ask as well.

You have to check here: https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus
It doesn't show on ELIS but when you check your case by going to that link, it shows the history of your inquiry.

I believe that screen is from this account:https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/displayLogon.do, which is different from the ELIS account.

Is there a faster way to get the a representative to get transferred to the ELIS help desk? Boyfriends rep hung up on him instead of transferring. I know spamming zero doesn't work lol.

We did manage to get her to open a case though to see what is taking so long. Not that it seems to do any good.

Go here and create an account.
https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

You'll get more details than without an account:

Looks like Ombudsman request took the shotgun approach and sent out mass emails about a bunch of cases, including mine. Not sure if it'll actually have an impact looking at previous request replies

That's nice! At least your re-hire process is simple. I work at a state university and the hiring process takes a month! If I don't get my permit by 9/16 I will have to go through it again once I get my card
