did you also get an id? did that have the same expiration?

No, I didn't get an ID.

I finally got my card today, after waiting 11 calendar days. Going to go to the DMV and have them fix it though. They have my name wrong. :/

Just got my permit.
DMV worker just asked for my ID so I handed over my EAD.

Yes, show it to them. This helps because instead of having two of you on their records, they'll just update your old information. My birthday was wrong on my expired ID too, and she just asked for proof of my real birthday. I gave my EAD, which I would have had to anyways I believe, and she just updated the information in the system.

Which dmv did you go to? Cali?

First, my scenario, then a question to you all.

Scenario: Started my CA DL process on October 5th. Passed my driving test and got the provisional DL on October 12th. Still haven't received my actual DL. I know some of you applied after me, and already have gotten it, so I called DMV. They said that my legal presence is still being verified and asked me to call another number to get the whole story. Called that and got a hold of a lady named Deborah, who at first didn't know what Deferred Action was. After me explaining my case, she asked me to fax over my I-94, EAD, and Social Security Card to her, for her to process all of that information. Now I got wary because none of the people who got the DL had to do this, so I asked her why me? She was sorta rude, but she said that it's because my application was in a pool with other applications, and that I just have to wait, whereas if I were to send in my documents to her, it could speed up my process.

Question is: I am already 4 weeks into it, and DMV said that it may take UP TO 6 weeks. So, should I just wait, or just fax everything to Deborah? And secondly, if I do fax in everything, what if I get the dreaded 2 year DL? I know everyone's been getting the 5 year one, but IF for some reason I get the 2 year one, can I talk to someone about this and have it changed?

I went to Hayward for the permit then freaking Fremont for the road test.
