I'm a little worried because when I first read the website I took it as "send it when you hit the 120 day mark" so mine was received 8/5. My EAD expires on 12/2. I've been out of the loop here and it seems a lot of you guys sent it closer to the 150 day mark instead. This is going to kill me now.

Hello Dreamers,

This is what I propose to get our renewals:

Step 1: Pass the word around to friends and family about this thread and lets have at least 80% of dreamers join. This way everyone will be part of the plan.

Step 2: Divide us 4 Zones/Teams
Zone 1: States that fall in Pacific Time Zone
Zone 2: State that fall in Mountain Time Zone
Zone 3: States that fall in Central Time Zone
Zone 4: States that fall in Eastern Time Zone

Step 3: This is where we execute the plan...
We will make phone calls only at the following designated times. 8am to 9am and 1:30pm to 2:30pm. Keep in mind that the people doing our renewals are also human beings. In the morning and after lunch people tend to be more cooperative. Also, if we have a wave of phone calls regarding the same issue-these issues will be brought throughout the day as short conversations or even in staff meetings with supervisors.

Step 4: Call!

Zone 1: August 15th-8am to 9am
Zone 2: August 15th-1:30pm to 2:30 pm
Zone 3: August 16th-8am to 9am
Zone 4: August 16th-1:30 to 2:30pm

Step 5: We all need to be saying the same thing and be concise when speaking to them. Remember we are all educated, respectful, hard working dreamers!

This is what I propose we say.

Dreamer: Hi, you are speaking with (first and last name) from (city and state). I would like to request information about current immigration process under application number (application number).

Phone Agent: Ok. Thank you. How can I help you?

Dreamer: My current work permit authorization is set to expire in a few weeks and I need to know if I will be able to keep working, driving and attending school. I know that the current process time listed on your website says about 6 months. Is there anything I can do to expedite the process?

Phone Agent: As of this moment, no.

Dreamer: Ok thank you for you help. I please ask you to relay this information to your superior. Without a work authorization card I will not be properly live in this country that I know as my only home. Thank you have a nice day!

Phone agent: Ok thank you for your call. Is there anything else I can help you with?

Dreamer: Yes, please relay the information from this call to your supervisors.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You guys want to try it? Let me know and we can all start doing it and compare results at the end of the way. On Thursday night we can evaluate the results and see if we need to modify the plan.

Thank you.

How did you go ahead and do this. I want to do this too. I really dislike having two last names.

Check your state's requirements. Assuming you're from CA so review the link below.

Ok, thanks. Was it a long and complicated process?

What do you think of my plea for renewal of work authorization? :P

Quote:
Please see the attached documentation for a breakdown of my income, expenses, and assets. At the present, I am gainfully employed as a Mechanical Engineer. Work authorization is required for any job in my field and without it I would be immediately fired and then would deplete my assets within months. As I am single, I do not have any other means of monetary support. Prior to receiving my work authorization, my sister supported me by paying my rent & educational expenses. Unfortunately, she is now single and has considerable expenses of her own (1 partially employed adult child, 1 child starting college in Fall 2015, 1 child in high school; not to mention her own living expenses) and so I would be unable to mooch off of her anymore.

You're kidding about the last line right? Don't use 'mooch' or any slang while addressing an immigration officer. Keep it professional.

Fairly straightforward and about 4 weeks, including processing.
