I would first like to thank Juan for this good news! Secondly, My fiance is an undocumented non citizen here in America and came here when he was 3. He is the perfect example for whom this Dream Act was created for. Our future in terms of marriage is entirely dependent on this one dreamact [Don't ask why, family requirements for citizenship to wed thy daughter]. Let us hold hands and make way for change. No competent hardworking striving citizenship should fall short in success due to his/her undocumented status. Lets make a change =)

Of course I never disagreed it wasn't about all races colors and more to it than marriage. But i was just here telling you what factor of the DreamAct affects me personally. I wasn't overgeneralizing, and mind you sir or madam whatever it is your dreaming of aside from the DREAMACT. It primarily cuts down to Citizenship which is linked to dreams. If you didn't have citizenship, these dreams would not be accomplished. Being undocumented holds you back from pursuing so much whether it be education from lack of financial aid or taking up a mere vocation at MACYS or a Bank to provide for your family. SO, when you say "its about dreams", [repeat 2x] you stand corrected.

Thank you for this update! Hopefully the next post of your is more good news . I like the idea that if CIR would fail to pass that hopefully they could try to pass DREAM as a standalone bill or attach it to education bill!

Keep us updated please!

WHAT?

Are they crazy? I mean, I love Durbin, but there is NO WAY in HELL that CIR will pass this year. I mean, come on! I am not that much of a political junkie to know this!

Durbin and Reid should use the Dream Act and attach it to a Defense bill or Education. A massive immigration bill will not be passed this year with the economy in this shape.

Juan Gomez, since you can talk to these people, give them some sense of rationality!

The DREAM Act could pass as a rider. I don't know why they want to open the pandora box.

And if its going to be attached to CIR, then why introduce it in the first place?

This is stupid.

Politicians can be stupid. And believe me, I love my Democrats, but this is not a wise decision.

Juan J.

I was so excited for this week to come up and now i am kinda disappointed if what Juan says is true i am really gonna just give up. CIR has no real chance of passing in 09 unless somehow the economy gets up asap or do these senators know something that i and many others don't know about? or do they feel Obama will do Town Hall meetings and tv interviews to get more supporters?

I am seriously real pissed can't they just bring it to the floor soon and if it passes then that indicates that CIR has a chance if it fails to pass then well..you know.

C'mon, remember that last year, Reid did not have a strong desire to put dream on the agenda, it was because Durbin pushed for it that he decided to bring on the floor, I am drawing this from how it all played out when dream was voted on, hang in there, after it is introduced we should call and thank, and keep asking Durbin to pursue other avenues than CIR.

Are you serious ? noo way ! CIR at this state of the country....it is not going to pass ! I will try all my heart out to get the senators to vote but I know that its not gonna happen with the CIR. I was really hoping it would be attached to the Education bill or as a Rider bill. Kinda disappointing. Not sure why Sen. Durbin would do this...
