You have a point, I would not recommend the marriage option for those barely eighteen or those in their early twenties. However, for those in their late twenties or thirties, it is worth considering. The young ones still have time a Dream Act for to pass, the older ones might get aged out like we saw in this Dream Act.

I know some people willing to marry if you offer them $25,000.

That's ridiculously expensive, isn't it?
This is so true. Today in a conversation with someone this question came up. He was telling me that there are people who ask for at least $50,000 and his relative paid $20,000 to get married for papers. He also said that people who became citizens over time ask for more money than people who were born here.

I remember the case of a guy who got if for free. He told the girl, he would pay her later and he didn't. Obviously, she couldn't report the police that he tricked her or else she herself would get in trouble.

I don't know if I should respect that guy (for getting it free) or be disgusted at him for tricking an innocent girl.

Why would someone help you for free after going through all the trouble? You know it's hard to prove you are married because they keep a close eye on you since they know a lot of marriages are fake.

80% of her situation is her fault. Once the guy had obtained legal status and a job she should have demanded some money. But then again we don't know the full circumstances of the situation.
