Ultimately, this is the first time that republicans budge on this issue. It may not be what we want but I'd say it's a least something to start with before a final bill is passed. To me, the mere thought of the republicans conceding that they can't send us all packing to our countries of origin is a small victory in itself.

I think the bill excited some, but disappointed many more people. You spend years working on your degree, planning your future after DREAM and what happens? Republicans put this in front of you and say "Well, kids...it's this or nothing." But, we've all got to remember that this is a process. ARMS may or may not pass. When it comes up for a vote, it may not even look like this. So, attacking one another isn't going to help our cause, either way.
Most Dreamers should be supporting this. If they dont, they are as ignorant as a lot of Americans. Here's why they should be supporting it:

1) The ARMS act only requires you to serve two years active duty or four years in the army reserves. So how bout this? Serve in the army for two years, then go to college/get a job? You could keep serving in the military as a job until you get your permanent residence.
2) The military is NOT dangerous as long as you dont pick combat roles. There is more of the engineer/technical jobs in the military.
3)Face it, Dream Act has a low chance of passing since so many Repubs consider it amnesty. The ARMS act is the closest we'll ever get, so dont whine about it and man up.

Republicans do not give a shit. In the end they will bring up some bullshit amendments. I would ot nbe surprised if they come up with something along the lines of...

Dreamers who die in combat get instant citizenship... oh and we also deport their relatives.

Ignorant comment. I say it's better to divide and achieve something, rather than unite and achieve nothing.

Well that is not surprising

War here we go again

I guess if you do qualify for the ARMS Act

You might not even make it back to enjoy the American system

Oh well

Ignorant comment. Assuming you will get "this" passed under the republican house. This bill just lowers the standard of a real Dream Act.
