Im unemployed...After receiving my EAD card, I found a job as a surveillance investigator for a investigative firm. So, I decided to quit my fast food restaurant job. Nevertheless, I didn't end up like the investigative job. I worked there for almost two months and now I'm unemployed. The job market is tough. Right after I got my EAD, it was looking pretty good because I have a couple offers. Now, my luck has vanished. I guess, I will keep looking.

As soon as I got my Social Security card, I wasted no time getting on my job search. I looked on Craigslist, Monster, and my university's career website for bookkeeping jobs. I applied to probably three or four, and I got two interviews. One was for a secretary job that was way too easy, and the other was for an accounting intern at a small CPA firm. I chose the latter, and I started on January 8th.

I work 16 hours a week, in addition to class.

This summer, I'm going to start another internship. This time at a Big 4 accounting firm.

This will make me sound 'dumb' but where could I go for that? Through school or could I simply look around myself for accounting firms?

P.S. I just realized that in my area there's hardly any accounting firms so this is a potential spot where I could establish my own firm....one day.

Go to your school's career website first, then go to each firm website.

You need experience at an established firm before you start your own, and just because you area doesn't have many firms doesn't mean that there's an untapped market there.

Just saying. The good accounting jobs are in metro areas; that's where you want to go.

Oh okay I tried some website's last night and didn't fine anything.

Yea I know the last past it was just a thought since I know there's small business owners in this area and many are immigrants and latino I thought hey potential market.

Yea that's what I've noticed I guess if I get an opportunity before owning a car I will get there on my bicycle!
