damn man chill out all those mean words you used about her anti immigrant people and alipac say the same thing about us.
sorry if I come off a little hard but we need to distance her from us as far as possible. That goes for all immigration advocates!

Lol,I thought we all learned that from the last 2 CIR debates.

Anyway,Here is what ICE had to say in their press release.

Quote:
ICE deports high-profile criminal fugitive alien to Mexico
Woman who sought refuge in Chicago church arrested during weekend trip to L.A.

LOS ANGELES - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced today that a criminal fugitive alien who spent a year seeking to elude federal capture inside a Chicago church has been deported to Mexico following her arrest by ICE here yesterday afternoon.

Elvira Arellano, 32, a citizen of Mexico, was arrested by ICE officers Sunday afternoon in downtown Los Angeles. Arellano was taken into custody without incident based upon an order of removal originally issued in 1997.

After being processed at ICE's staging facility in Santa Ana, Calif., Arellano was transported 100 miles to the border crossing at San Ysidro, Calif., where she was turned over to Mexican immigration officials late yesterday. ICE coordinated closely with representatives from the Mexican consulate to ensure Arellano's safety during the evening repatriation.

Arellano's U.S. citizen son was with her at the time of her arrest. At Arellano's request, he was left in the custody of her traveling companions, including Pastor Walter Coleman, the Pastor of the Chicago church where she had received sanctuary for the past year.

Following her removal in 1997, Arellano illegally re-entered the United States, a felony violation punishable by up to 20 years in prison. In 2002, ICE agents arrested Arellano at Chicago's O'Hare Airport, where she was working illegally for a janitorial services business whose employees had access to security sensitive areas of the facility. Subsequently, Arellano was convicted of criminal charges for using another person's Social Security number to illegally obtain employment.
I'm sorry but judging by these facts Arellano certainly had it coming to her.

I'm sure ICE will make any undocumented immigrant sound bad. They're not exactly impartial.

What’s up with everyone saying she had it coming to her, the only thing she had was her willing effort to work hard and to stay with her son.

If she had it coming, then all of us who have no legal status should have it coming to, since we are here illegibly. You guys are thinking exactly as the people who do not want the Dream Act to Pass. Well if you guys think like that, I hope that the dream act does not pass, because we should not point at someone and say they had it coming, when we are all in the same situation.

I respect the Arellano lady for her courage to fight being deported, and hope that more people stand up against what’s wrong.

You all know deep inside, if this was your country you guys would do exactly as the people who oppose our dreams since you guys are already showing signs of selfishness.

They're not in the business of making up stories either though.

ICE is well....a necessary agency that's basically mismanaged. It's rather appalling that they would rather track down people on an immigration list rather than a terrorist suspect list.

Illegal immigrants should really blame illegal immigrants for the bad image. Every time we get someone who is educated or whose cause is really deserving of justice we get ten people who are either ignorant or criminals. That retard that was executing people in a schoolyard in Newark probably set our whole effort back a few months. The second the news reported that he was illegal all our phone calls became absolutely worthless. One could of course argue that had it not been for our calls the situation might be far worse.

How could any Senator be expected to act on behalf of this woman when she is basically a criminal. Our cause and hers are nothing alike.

I do not think we need to make those types of comments to make a point. The only people who deserve to be insulted in such a way is Tancredo and the likes.

I more than understand the reasoning behind most of the forum members againts Areyano's persona and actions. My personal opinion is 50/50. She keeps reminding me of many women I know. I despise most of their actions. Yet, I have to see beyond the mere action. The options of an uneducated, lonely woman who never had the chance to go to school and whose only chance to advance was by jumping the fence. She does not represent us. She represents other types of undocumented immigrants. The question is, why did she broke the law? For example why did she stole SS? Credit card fraud? buying a house or commiting a crime under someone else name? or she used the SS to get a job or to apply for an apartment? If she stole a credit card number to steal moneys from someone else by all means, is she a criminal? If she used the SS to get a job or an apartment? Well, then she cannot provide for herself. I will be harsh, if she used the fake SS to get a low income apartment, she has no sympathy from me. Any reasonable person can see that we are not her. KKK and Alipac do not care, they see Areyano's child as an undocumented himself. I do not care for racists, who are never going to be capable of critical thinking. I care for middle America, the ones who don't know who we are and whose only knowlege of our existence is Areyano. We need to get to those people and Juan Gomez is right now the only example we have. With all the respect from our UCLA members, I think that what truly hurt us is the California Dream Act. The current bill that is going to allow undocumented students get the fee waiver from community college. The California Dream Act is the re-instatement that we want free eductaion. I love when this kind of posts came because it shows that we are different people, not clones. Some of us are very conservative, some are very liberal. Some are religious others...not. If someone foreing to this site reads this posts, she/he might find out we do not fit the old perception she/he had about us. That is also important to remember. It took me a long time to write this post. I wanted to truly say something meaningful without being offensive. Above all I respect freedom of speech even when the speech is not convinient for me.

Dear despicable hypocrites,

Your hypocritical behavior is totally revolting. How dare you criticize a woman for actually having the courage to stand up and fight for the same thing that we all want. So what if she went the wrong way about it? So what if she was deported twice and that she used a fake social? Big fuckin deal. We are all here ILLEGALLY, and if you must be self-righteous and label this lady as a criminal, HAHA well guess what??? THAT MAKES US ALL CRIMINALS! In case you forgot, we have to do what we have to do in order to get by in this fuckin country. We have to lie, work under the bar, hell even use a fake social in order to get a job. So quit acting like you are such an honorable citizen. You're here illegally, you're breaking the law. If you set yourself apart from this lady then why don't you get your ass up and get the hell out here. Plain and simple. So what if you are "Educated"? We are all in the same boat. HERE ILLEGALLY! Wake up and smell the folgers coffee already damn it! We have an education because our parents brought us here, and it is thanks to them that we are who we are today. So quit trying to belittle people just because they don't hold a freakin degree. This pissess me the fuck off because you are insulting many of our parents and sometimes even your own! How do you expect for people to understand our situation if we can't even have the slightest compassion for a woman who resorted to extreme measures because she wanted to stay just like we all do. So you think you are different? HA, so explain to me why this damn law hasn't passed yet? Don't you think that if we were so different Dream Act would have passed long time ago? It wouldn't face as much opposition as it does! Haven't you read the headlines?????? TO THEM WE ARE ILLEGALS,CRIMINALS, WE DON'T DESERVE AMNESTY! So what is your damn problem?? You're here blatantly criticizing this woman as if you had ever been in her situation. I would like to see what everyone of you is willing to do for a chance to stay in this country if you got detained tomorrow. The only difference between her and us, is that she was unfortunate enough to get caught! AND I'M SORRY BUT YOU DON'T DESERVE FOR THIS LAW TO PASS. YOU JUST PROVED THAT YOU ARE JUST LIKE ALL OF THOSE ANTI-IMMIGRANT ASS HOLES. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THAT THEY HAVE WHAT YOU WISH YOU HAD, SO THAT GIVES THEM A LITTLE BIT OF AN UPPER HAND.

and I apologize to those of you who haven't forgotten who YOU ARE.
