My driver's license expires in like 2016 or 2018 or something but obviously has the "temp. visitor" and the DACA expiration date. Do I have to go to the DMV to show the new work authorization card (when I get it renewed and get the card) or can I just send a copy online?
In NY you must renew in person in this case. They need to see the actual work permit. You may receive a renewal notice in mail, but if you mail it in you'll just get another notice saying you need to go to the DMV.

If you'd become a permanent resident or a US citizen you can just renew via mail.

My California driver license expires three days from now, on the 10th. I had sent photo copies of my renewed work permit as soon as I received it a couple of weeks ago, but have not received my renewed DL in the mail. I think I'll call the California DMV tomorrow and see if there is any update information available. Otherwise, I'll have to do a walk in at my local DMV office.

Keep us updated, I want to know if your new DL arrived via mail.

I only have a DL, as I never applied for an ID. I called the DMV yesterday and was informed it would take up to a month to process the letter and information I mailed in. So today after work I will be visiting my local office to attempt and get a temporary liscnese until everything is sorted through the head office in Sacramento. If I am unable to work anything out then I will loose my privilage to drive as of tomorrow.

Good to know. I just sent in my renewal last week. And there was no mention of a fee on the form.

Did you have to take vision test again or you just showed them your ead and asked for interim while Sacramento processed your stuff?
