Here's the DHS memorandum on this issue, which will cover all relatives of USCs and LPRs with approved I-130s.

Right now, this means all children. ALL. Not only minor children.

He says "all statutorily eligible classes of relatives," which could mean brothers and sisters, but I'm not sure about that.

Yes. That's what I saw. Couldn't find it. But why wouldn't they write that under the "who" section? Seemed like they updated everything else. This is nerve wrecking.

This is very interesting and seems to cover a very vast range of people .. i think this is the answer to the 10 year ban .. especially with the wording the parent does not have to be the petitioner .. but i guess we have to wait and see.

Oh yeah, txgirl, they are changing the definition of "extreme hardship." It should be easier to get a waiver.

I called USCIS and they said they are still waiting on new regulations and instructions to be released for the new provisional waiver for adult children. Attorney said it would take 5 years roughly with a permanent resident mom and 2.5 years with a U.S. citizen mom to sponsor me to get my GC. Do you guys know if we would get a work permit since we.re in a U.S. while waiting for our GC ?

The wait time for sons and daughters (over the age of 21) of permenant residents is usually 10 years and for sons and daughters of citizens it is 7 years from what I have read. How come did the lawyer say 2.5 years for you?

ya that what he said over the phone. It would be nice if we can get a work permit while waiting, can we ? Also timing might change with that new provisional waiver anounced. what do you think?
