And what category would it be? My parents are residents that adjusted through my sister that's a citizen. She has offered to help me out but I've heard the wait is over 20 years..

What a day!

And there are some solutions that could give us permanent residence (marriage, family petitions, job sponsorships, etc). Get over yourself and realize that he's on our side and showing sympathy.

This is one thing that pisses me off about the current immigration system. The CSPA needs to be revamped in order to prevent people from being put in the back of the line for the F2B visa which has a wait time of almost 115 years for Mexico and I think 30 years for Philippines.

I agree we should be looking for our own way heck I even made a thread about that very thing here. But how much thankful are we suppose to be? We pay our taxes, we obey the law (aside from being here as we are But even then unlawful presence isn't a crime ) Many of us at this point will just settle with a 2 year EAD but we aren't going to just sit here and have you call us foreigners just because you got something we don't.

Calling us that is belittling he is telling us we are different from you now that you got yours you can air up and mighty looking down at us shaking your head muttering "damn beggars get like me"

What the hell are you talking about? I used a dreamer and as much as I felt like an America, I was still technically a foreigner since I came here when I was 4 months old without any visa. I still am a foreigner even though I have a green card simply because I wasn't born in here. Even if I naturalize, I will never become a true American because that is not my country of origin, only the country I was raised in. DACA was a blessing since I was able to adjust my status and it allowed my parents to petition me at 17 years old.

When I meant by "beggars can't be choosers" was that be thankful for the United States to allow us to prosper even without legal status. Many other countries including my country of origin, Mexico, would have kicked our assess out immediately.

In the end, DACA was an opportunity that I hope Trump replaces it with something better or even amnesty for only that particular group.

I'm not even sure if he'll touch DACA today, we may have to wait on Monday.
