That's rough. Would it need 60 votes?

Perception is everything and understanding that is why Dreamers get so much support. A person who speaks English without an accent and raised in the culture is seen as "American" and gets a lot of sympathy. Someone who is in the country for 20 years, doesn't speak English, does not fit culturally gets a lot less sympathy.
If that were true the DREAM Act would have passed 16 years ago. Why does it keep getting rejected? They've tried to attach it to defense and spending bills in the past only to have it removed in the end.

A CNN commentator suggested Democrats should attach the dream act and pass this bill.

True. Things are different now, though. We have had a legal protection and a taste of quasi-documented life with DACA for 5 years now. That's the game changer 16 years later.

Weren't you guys saying let's stop fighting for CIR pass the Dream Act once we are legal we can petition for our parents ? If this bill passes we won't be able to petition for them. They should worry more about those scam marriages. Maybe change the laws you can petition for your parents as long as you can financially support them for at least 10 years if they can't support themselves idk

That's why I think CIR is the best way to go. It got 68 votes in the Senate and would've passed the House if Boehner allowed a vote.
