I agree with mostly of what's in the Collins bill but can someone please explain how come the bill protects people who haven't even gotten here in the first place? I saw someone here post something like it would protect people who got before June 2018.
I read somewhere and hope it becomes true is that, the reason that Grassley bill is to be voted last bc they hope when the previous 3 don’t have enough (knock on wood) , that will push Dems to go vote on that one....hope that’s the case.

So if this fails when do they bring the next bill up for a vote?

Yeah, and I think the dems know that. If I were one of the senators, I'd push for a plan close to the what the donald wants. (personally, I'd push for the Flake bill, and that's me as a dreamer talking). Hopefully, that gets a huge majority in the Senate and somehow get the House to vote for it. And, make Trump decided to veto or sign it.

Either way, as a dem senator, I and my caucus would look good because we tried and compromised while making the president look bad for deciding against it. Or get a bill passed.

The biggest obstacle will be Paul Ryan. He won't put that up for a vote in the house because he knows it will pass. And if it passes, it will force the president to make a choice. He doesn't want that.

So what do they do? Say dems won't negotiate (even though they've given a lot of ground already), and folks will blame dems. Isn't politics great when people are uninformed? (obvious sarcasm).

Months of negotiation to add a Dem poison bill

Unbelievable

Absolutely no reason for that poison bill to be added except to derail the whole bill

Dems want us to suffer

My guess would be, if democrats don't get what they want, then Trump doesn't get his big lovely Wall. If he doesn't get his wall then he'll have hard time running in 2020. He promise his supporter, he will have wall along the southern border.
