Uh not really... Maybe for the MAVNIs who have been stuck in a limbo with excessive background checks and had to put their paid vacation days on hold for a prolonged period of time even before going into basic.

If you need someone to yell at you to wake you up at 4AM to jog and do pt then I got some bad news for you.

You can always serve the country in multitude of different intelligible ways. The military is just about welfare, people don't join for free with the intention of 100% 'serve' the people of the US. That's just the reality, yes military life sucks but hey no one pointed a weapon at you and forced you to join.

Yes but the military is the only one that leads to citizenship even if there are better ways to help the nation.

You only live once my friend. Is citizenship of a country (hypothetically speaking) really worth risking your life and hammering your career prospects?

See what I mean? LaLaLand, where all you need is a simple majority to pass laws rather than the filibuster-proof 60. Where every single time there was an attempt at immigration reform, it was the Democrats who united against its passage. Those damn fantasy Democrats!

I couldn't agree more but I was merely pointing out that the majority in the military are not as high and mighty as the nation portrays them to be. It is just a propaganda to join.

I agree to the above ^.

That is why whenever someone show special respect to the veterans I want to know what exactly he or she do to deserve it. The person could have just clean toilets and that is all.
