My only question is: "is it possible that in 2025 us Daca recepients will lose our EADs, while there are thousand of other refugees and immigrants getting their brand new EADs in the mail? I mean to me it sounds like a dystopian nightmare, a lot of us make over $100k a year already imagine all the tax revenue the gov would be missing out on. Is that where we are headed?

But don’t mention it on Reddit or people will claim you think you’re better than the Venezuelans and Central Americans crossing the river right now. “You should be happy we got anything at all”.

It's unacceptable of Democrats and the Biden administration to grant 5 yr EADs to only newly arrived border crossers while millions of undocumented workers who have made a life for themselves for decades, Dreamers are still without a legalization or registry program. Contact your reps, unions, and Senators.

USCIS Increases Employment Authorization Document Validity Period for Certain Categories
Release Date
09/27/2023
We are updating guidance in the Policy Manual to increase the maximum validity period to 5 years for initial and renewal Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) for certain noncitizens who are employment authorized incident to status or circumstance, including those admitted as refugees, paroled as refugees, and granted asylum, as well as recipients of withholding of removal.

We are also increasing the maximum validity period to 5 years for initial and renewal EADs for certain noncitizens who must apply for employment authorization, including applicants for asylum or withholding of removal, adjustment of status under INA 245, and suspension of deportation or cancellation of removal.

Here's hoping my AOS EAD gets approved somewhat soon.

Happy for the people that are getting 5 year EADs.

We should not be going against other immigrants. That falls right into the playbook of the politicians. While we direct our anger and frustration at other immigrants, we give the lazy asses who run the system a free pass. All the anger and frustration should be aimed that the useless dumbasses in DC.

We were all "illegals" without some form of an immigration benefit and are in no position to talk shit about others who are getting some form or benefit or relief. Get off your DACA high horse, which is only a 3 foot pony who is blind in one eye and has a broken leg and is about to be shot in the head by a couple Trump appointed federal judges.

Biggest problem with asylum is that either it needs to be approved or pending for at least 180 days before you're eligible for an EAD, so you've got a pile of people who can't work until 6 months later. That's kinda why they started issuing parole to some to get around that.

Question for you guys that know everything. If a DACA recipient loses their EAD, can they exit the country and then walk to the border and apply for asylum? what will they say when they see your history? will they turn you around, or let you in with your beautiful 5 year EAD?
