I spoke with the first person that answers after you press #2 when calling USCIS 1-800 number.
That is a tier 1? Honestly these guys are pointless..

you may have to take the renwal test. I took it about two weeks ago and got the new DL on monday
The written test? You needed to bring your passport? Mine's been expired... Also, does it have the "not for federal purposes" stamp?

it does have the stamp you mentioned. about the passport being expire i would say get a new one before trying to get a license under AB60. also try to make an appointment online to avoid the long wait

I have seen the USCIS announcement about delays for anyone who applied Feb 14 to May 14, but I am confused about this "data issue." What does it mean that you were not affected and what does it mean for someone who was affected?

[quote=originalgabe;577290]got off the phone with tier 2 rep, who confirmed that there is a data issue, and apparently they know which applications are affected by this. He told me mine was "not affected" but had no reasonable explanation as to the delay.

thought it was interesting though since first time any one on their side confirms this for me.

Can it be the DL I currently have as proof ID or a birth certificate? By the time the passport comes out, my EAD will come, haha.

Is the notice of approval letter enough for HR or do they need to see the EAD card? Can someone please confirm, I'm losing my mind here. TIA

It's the employer's discretion, really. So just ask HR. Usually, they'd need the card because of the updated expiration date but some, like mine, are even willing to accept notfication of the status change online or the letter as temporary proof. Does ELIS provide you with the notice of approval for I765 or DACA? The DACA letter isn't really EAD though.

Idk if it's worth since I'll want to apply for the other DL without the stamp when I receive my EAD. Ugh, so many feels.

It provides me the notice of approval for the I765. It says " notice type: Approval Notice" and right under "valid from xx/xx/2016 to xx/xx/2018" do you think this is enough? TIA
