And btw, BOTH quotes I posted mentioned the ineligibility of a Social. I didn't need to read your 20 posts ago to get that point. I knew that already. And that wasn't my argument.
It's not that I was wrong or you were right. You were confused. AB2189 is the the reason we can get DL/ID's.
We're getting DL/ID's because there is already a procedure in place for this to happened. The term limited DL/ID's are not NEW, this is in the books already.
If you got DACA approved and issued an EAD you could get a DL/ID without AB2189, that is what I have been trying to say and you seem to had been going back to.
AB2189 deal with a certain issue and does not deal with 99.9% of DACA applicants.

What Ab2189 does is confuse people. There are people who think they can't even apply because AB2189 is the REASON they can get DL/ID, and that is not the case.

Hi everyone. Is it me or are those applying for licenses first (not CA ID) are the ones who are getting 2 year licenses? Seems like those who apply for IDs first or both at the same time are the ones who are getting longer expiration dates...

I'm just assuming. Hopefully that isn't the case. Let us know when you get your DL.

It is the luck of the draw people. If you get a really nice DMV employee you'll get the full term on the ID or DL. They are instructed to put whatever year your EAD expires on the ID OR DL.

I got my ID first, then my DL.... Both are full term as far as expiration date goes.

So if you get the ID first, can you show them that instead of the EAD when applying for the DL?

i applied for both. if my id is full term, would that automatically make my dl full term as well? or would they give different expirations?
