I applied for a ssn this morning, I got my card yesterday. The lady was very nice, she only needed my card and passport, didn't say anything about waiting 10 days. I didn't even have to fill an application, she asked for some information and did everything on the computer. She said it will take a week or two to get it in the mail, and to come back Monday with my receipt and card to see if my information has been verified.
Still waiting on my brother's approval though :/
