I sent NILC an email asking them if there was any news this was their response:

"Your case was flagged a week ago, but since we did not hear a response from USCIS, we are flagging it again tomorrow.

I will contact you if there are any updates from our end, and please let me know if there is any movement on your case (especially if your DACA renewal is approved)."

USCIS is acting like I'm some sort of criminal I don't even have a fcking ticket or late library fee.

^ Well trying to track down the specific agent who's working on your case is like tracking down an undercover CIA agent.

They should have started looking for him since FEBRUARY.
I bet my application is just sitting there somewhere lost in a huge pile of scattered papers. I wish I could go to Nebraska and volunteer my time organizing their mess...

I have an infopass this Monday.
Have you gotten an ELIS account so you can send a request through there?

Look up your state's reqs. to receive unemployment. Since you were laid off and your EAD is still valid, you may qualify.

Start looking for another job. Legally they can't deny you a job because your EAD will be expiring soon. That's also something that you do not need to bring up in your interview. Also, in my experience, they don't ask to look at your EAD until you are already in.

I hope everything goes well for ya, good luck.
I'm pretty sure I'll be able to get unemployment (I got It last year, the first time they laid me off) but they are going to give me severance pay and it's probably going to cover half of the amount of time that I have left on my permit. I'm probably only going to have two weeks in unemployment if I don't get my permit quickly since they only go by the time the permit lets me work. The time between my appointment and the expiration of my permit is about a month so I think probably enough time for me to get permit. Unfortunately, I cannot to go do I walk in now since I have to be at my job every day as a condition of my severance pay. Thankfully my appointment it's next Wednesday, so it's not that much time. I'm hoping for the best, I hope it all works out.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes I hope I can get something soon, my family is kinda dependent upon my salary and we'll be on dire straights if I don't.

Ps. Forgot to say that they didn't lay me off because of my permit, but because the company is having financial issues. Still a shitty time for me, while they cannot discriminate me if I am a DACA recipient, they can choose not to hire anyone because they cannot be sure you will have constant permission to work.

is it supposed to show that your biometrics were already received on the dhs account? mine last update is from June 24, although I completed my biometrics on July 19th.

I don't think they can discriminate against that either, at least in MA we can't... but I know how it goes, they choose another candidate and cite other reasons if pressed.
