Mmmm, that's the same part where mine says due two days ago on 9/2. Maybe I should give them a call to check since I don't trust them to do anything correctly anymore. I expire on 10/9. It took them three months (multiple service request, phone calls, etc.) to schedule mine, and they originally scheduled it two days after my exp date. They also gave me two wrong notices, the first one was a bio appt linked to my old renewal, and the second one said I didn't need to do bio but has the wrong I821D application number on it...

So last week got contacted by my Congressman's office, asking for some letters showing financial hardship for me and also my employer - to see if they could expedite. Figured i have nothing else to lose, so had my manager and my director write something up on company letterhead and forwarded to congressional aide.

Still not much traction.

Also received an email reply from the NCSC which i sent back on agust 14th and got below answer:

Quote:
Thank you for your inquiry about your Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) renewal request, filed on May 5, 2016.

USCIS records indicate your DACA renewal request is in a queue for processing at the Nebraska Service Center (NSC); however, the processing of this case is not yet complete.
Per the USCIS website, the Nebraska Service Center is currently processing DACA renewals that were filed prior to March 16, 2016. Based on this information your case is still pending review at the Nebraska Service Center.
DACA renewal requests should be submitted between 150-120 days prior to the expiration of your current DACA. Please note that there is no authorization to allow for expedited processing of DACA renewals.

to me
Mr. Originalgabe,

I just heard back today from the Nebraska Service Center (NSC) regarding your DACA/EAD and whether we could expedite the processing. Unfortunately, your work authorization (EAD) can’t be processed until your DACA is completed. As of this morning, your case is still pending review at the NSC and they are unable to determine when you will get a final decision on your case.

I’m sorry I don’t have better news but I wanted to inform you of their response as soon as I received it. Please let us know if you have another occasion when we can be of service.

Sincerely,
Christian Mora-Castrellón
Congressional Assistant
back to the drawing board I guess.

Just checked the 200 cases 'ahead' of mine again.

All received around 3/24/16.

43 DACA cases

16 approvals
27 pending

No changes in approvals since I last checked 8/29.

thoughts?
There's already been a class action lawsuit filed in federal court in Washington regarding issuing interim EADs: https://www.bloomberglaw.com/public/...ens?1470100709

Not all plaintiffs in the class are DACA applicants but the thrust of the lawsuit is the same: you need to issue interim EADs if you can't process in time.

I would definitely give them a call. I checked my account on Monday and the case history was updated like the screenshot. It's unbelievable how many times they screwed it up on your bio. Let's just hope we hear some good news soon.

I regret not buying a burger on the way home, cause then at least I'd have had a burger to go with my gut wrenching helplessness.

Interesting. ok well not much to go from there, other than potentially reaching out to the firms pursuing this.

Just sent a linkedin message to Melissa Crow (Director, Legal Action Center at American Immigration Council) referencing the class action lawsuit, and the current state of renewals.

im probably grasping at straws here, but what the hell - its not like i have much to do on my 30 day leave.

I got a useless message from uscis online.

"Thank you for your inquiry dated August 26, 2016.
Our system shows that your DACA package, which was filed on April 6, 2016, is pending and is within our current processing time. To determine current processing time within USCIS, please visit https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplay.do"

They got my filing date wrong too, its 04/7/16.

Did anyone else get this message?
