This stuff was excusable when I was a student, but now that I'm in in my mid- twenties, I've started worrying more and more about potential boyfriends thinking I'm a loser. Obviously, I can't tell anyone I'm illegal.

I know I'm being irrational. I do agree that you shouldn't let your immigration status keep you from having a life. So I'm resolving to stop focusing on what I can't do and just freaking stop being afraid of dating.
I am in the same situation but I definitely think that if you find a guy that likes you, he is not going to care about ur legal status. I also don't drive and I hate the fact that I have to always get a ride or wait for somebody to be available to take me somewhere. I currently have a job and have no problem getting into clubs (I use my consular ID card) So,I really think there are many ways to accomplish what you want. I was very disappointed when i got out of high school because I didn't know what I was going to do without income. Especially knowing that my parents barely make enough money to cover our household expenses. But i have seen people that work, drive and do many things without a green card. So i have learned not to let my self down because of my legal status. Good luck

its not that they want me O UT NOW its just that they want me to have a fighting chance in this world. i mean life would be a lot easier if we were legal in this country right??

and i meant to say they help me out when i dont have money not all the time. and i help out with bills etc which you could call rent because sometimes i give them all of my paycheck upwards of 300 or 400 a week.

so i guess its only fair i get to use their car/get money from then when i dont have any.

Hi arodriguez,

how do you and your family fall under 'undocumented'? They have money for living, car and willing to give you money.

Just a bit concern that's all. I know there are a lot of different ways on being undocumented, but so far as I know, on those I've been getting in contact with, they do not have any sort of documentation, nor birth certificates, no parents, no jobs, homeless.

I just happen to find you way off topic here. You have more of a chance, you got parents with money to give and transportation to offer.
Am I clear so far with your information?

You don't have to be poor, homeless and unemployed to be undocumented.

Dreamies and undocumented immigrants, for that matter, come from all walks of life, and that includes socio-economical background.

undocumented does not necessarily mean poor! how laughable is your comment. as angeleno pointed out not all undocumented are that bad off.

everyone except me is legalized in my family. its a long story but to summarize i wasn't able to become legalized through my dad who is a legal resident.

so i think that classifies me as undocumented and on topic.

Or even then you could be like my mom... she has a SSN and everything... she's just out of status.... she was denied a green card but never sent any deportation letters... so she is still here, with a valid DL and SSN.... and we've been here since 1997. Me on the other hand.... I've only got an ITIN.....I don't even know where my passport is... i have like NO form of ID except an old school ID and no one will accept it anymore.

Can you guys stop it? To some people the term "undocumented" equals "poor". That's because most undocumented people are poor.

What's really laughable is the attitude you all are giving this guy. I guess it shows the kind of people you all really are.
