Well, first of all congratulations for withstanding 5-6 years of college without being legal. Immigration searchs for your name in criminal records. You wont have a problem with the driver's license, I am not sure about the fingerprint the police has. It may come out in the computer when they match it with your 10 fingerprints at the time of application.

However, it wont be easy to get the visa if you dont prove immigration that you will come back to Mexico to continue working. You have to build an image of a lawfull Mexican wishing to visit and spend money in the US, which is the purpose of issuing tourists visas. So, first you may get a good job in Mexico, start paying the credit for a house, have some time working for the same employer, and then you can apply. Remember, build the image immigration and customs want to see from a sucessful visa applicant. You have the skills, you have a higher education.

The violence is mostly between drug cartels fighting for a share of the American illegal drug market, they mind their businesses and colleges are not attacked, unless a college student is related in some way to the cartels. It is a very good idea to become a doctor in Mexico. In fact, many Mexican doctors perform very hard surgeries in private hospitals in Houston and other cities. They are called by their partners in the US for the job, and then they return back to Mexico. I recommend you to save enough money to pay for your medical education. Medicine is the most expensive of all degrees, and being prepared financially will help you a lot in your performance. Of course the price is much cheaper than the US, especially in public schools. Plan ahead, always.
yeah stop talking like you know everything, the other guy got what i was trying to say, and your response to me made so sense as much as the response you gave to the other person. and yes 6 years=visiting, and an american moving to mexico would have to be "mexicanized" and assimilate to that culture if he/she plans on living there, maybe you were laready mexican , thats why you didnt notice a difference, I also refuse to turn my back on my country just because 2 political parties benefit financially from my illegal status. thanks

Ok, I agree that for those people that have been raised 90% + of their lives as Americans coming to Mexico would be a very hard change. But remember that the parents of those people that went to the US also had been 90% + of their lives in Mexico, and they made a sacrifice for themselves and for their children when going to the US.

Those parents had to assimilate into American society, at least in some degree. But I guess they made it; they found a way of getting out of poverty and out of the social shadow of not having opportunities. Now the country of their children have turn their back on those children. Now those children dont have opportunities as their would like, and a whole socio-political movement has been built to get those children a legal status. The problem is that it has not worked out as desired, and those children are being left behind, as President Bush used to say.

One way of solving it is doing what their parents did: immigrate to another country, make the same sacrifice their parents made for their children many years ago. By asking their parents how to do it may be a good point to start out.

And I am sure you are very patriotic, and it is good if it becomes an asset for you and your educational, professional, and legal future. But for now, it is a liability. And you are boxed in it.

It looks like you prefer living in the US illegally, having to earn an under-minimum-wage salary, having to wait for politicians to play ball with the undocumented population, and not getting the share of your taxes fully, than looking at other opportunities that may fix your problem. Hopefully they pass the Dream Act soon, otherwise you'll be just an spectator of the American parade all of your life. That's not fair.

About me, I am Mexican legally like you, and have a good appreciation of American values and way of life.
