Pilsen is not that ghetto. My friend lives there and I've visited here many times and I don't feel scared when I'm down there. So many hipsters are moving there though because of cheap rents.

51st & Pulaski is not ghetto (I live close by), Pilsen is not totally ghetto (come on you see hipsters in flip flops walking around at midnight), UK village / Greek town are not ghetto. If you think all these places are ghetto, I dont know what to tell ya, you must be from a pretty dull and quiet little village or town out in rural IL or something.

South side does have a lot of ghetto areas, like Englewood, Little Village, Back of The Yards, Gage Park, etc. which are not close by to those mentioned above.

And those getting their biometrics done at the south side location and not familiar with 51st & Pulaski, dont worry, is not ghetto. Curie High School is by there, so is the Pulaski Orange Line and various restaurants/shops.

As a lifelong resident of Little Village I agree. Some areas around my hood are soooo sketchy, but the areas people have been talking about here are anything but. It's a big city, there's crime all over but you can't live your life in fear.

My biometrics were scheduled for 9/28 but walked-in today (9/17) at the south side location at 2:15pm. The staff were really friendly. The guard did not even ask on why I came prior to my scheduled appointment. She asked for an ID and scanned my appointment letter, and gave me the form to fill out. There was only one person ahead of me, so I was in and out in like 7 minutes. Now the waiting game begins for me.

I did a walk-in today at the USCIS in Norridge, IL. They let me right through with no problems...

I just got the appointment for Norridge the North suburbs and it's schedule for October 2 but I can't wait any longer. I badly need to get a drivers license to stop living in this fear every time I drive. So should I do a walking at the Norridge area or just ignore the place and go to the one by Pulaski and 51st? I'm going tomorrow yes or yes so what's the best time to go?

Not sure about going to a location not assigned to, but those in San Francisco and Oakland area seems to be going to different locations that were not assigned to with success. So yeah, I would recommend to try the 51st & Pulaski one (and if asked, just say this one is more convenient for you). Try going anytime after 1:30PM Monday-Friday but before 330PM (they close at 4PM). Take your letter and ID.

Just make sure whatever ID you use is not expired.
