You are so right! GA is so anal about the documents ha but I know some place here in the NorthWest area that they really help you especially if you are Hispanic

GOOD NEWS!!!!

I went to the SSA in norcross this morning and everything went smoothly! took 25min total..mostly because there were ppl already there. was asked a few questions..nothing big..and then she took my work authorization card, SS-5 form, and put in some info into computer for about 5 min. then she went to get the receipt and told me I should get my SS card through mail within 7-10 days.

real easy, too easy almost. but hey, I'm not complaining!!! lol especially after all the horror stories about SSA taking 4weeks and etc. the agent said nothing about the save query, verification delay, or the 10day wait period. Hope you guys have the same experience in the coming weeks!!! Good luck to all of you guys!

I went to the same SSA this afternoon and it was a lot of people, I waited for about an hour. The guy didn't ask me any questions, I just gave him my passport, EAD and SS5 form. He just punch them in and gave me the receipt and told me that I will get my card in 7 to 14 days. I'm planning to call them Monday and see if I can get my SSN printout for my GA driver license.

for SS u can just bring any ONE of the documents listed along with ur EAD card. as for DL, probably have to call DDS and see if we qualify under TPS (if we do, no need for valid passport for DL) with our I-821d approval notice. if not get your SS in the meantime and wait til ur new passport arrives. hope that answers better!!!! lol

btw I know u don't need valid passport for SS because I went in with a school ID and transcript with my birth date on it this morning to SSA. had no problem at all and mine's arriving in a week or so
