Why do you hate the guy so much? You can disagree with his politics but don't stoop so low by spreading false rumors about him, but it doesn't surprise me because hillary supporters like to play dirty.

The main problem I believe will still be a sour Electorate. The basic mood that I see & hear everyday is "if the "Average American" doesn't believe he is reaping the benefits of his own country then why should a foreign national ?"

It is for this reason I believe the past immigration bills failed & why some who oppose any form of immigration [including legalization] has been so successful in their message to the "American people".Most polls would suggest that the current Congress & President are not only unpopular BUT most importantly are being neglectful in their duty to doing the people's business. The elections this fall [so far] look to solve only half the problem as most incumbents in Congress look to be elected.

Anyway, even though I cannot vote,on the topic of just supporting a candidate It would have to be John Edwards even though he is out of the race.It is because I believe he would have effectively dealt with the main problem we've been having, which is to deal with the problems of the lower middle class & poor where I believe most of the opposition to the past immigration bills came from & it would also negate any anti-immigrant message.I got the impression no other candidate whether Democrat or Republican seemed as passionate about it as he was & would make it a priority if given the Presidency. However, having reviewed that Obama did some past work in the Chicago community helping the poor I'll take a renewed look at him.
It seems you are buying into the anti-immigrant movement's claim that the "american people" don't want any form of legalization. Many polls have indicated that most americans don't mind a comprehensive immigration reform and even if poverty is eradicated from the U.S, there will ALWAYS be that anti- immigrant message. Do you really believe the anti-immigrant crowd will stop flooding congress with phone calls even if there is no poverty in America? Also people like sessions etc will always respond to the anti-immigrant crowd even if pro-immigration calls outnumber them. The only sour electorate we have when it comes to immigration would be the alipac type of crowd.

Btw, i wonder what type of negative impact dream act would have on the poor and middle class?

The trial of Tony Rezko, the slumlord Obama was said to have worked for, is set to begin on March 3rd. A conservative commentator, Monica Crowley, has already hinted that there is more to Obama and Rezko than Obama has let on. We'll see if she is right and if there are any trial bombshells.

There's also word that Obama has some connections to an unrepentant 60s radical and terrorist, William Ayers.

And lilbawler, its not about "hate" for Obama. He should be subject to scrutiny, and I want the Democratic nominee to be fully vetted whether it be Hillary or Obama. I do not want any surprises after primary season.

Oh by the way, McCain is not without his sins. McCain was one of the Keating 5 during the Savings and Loan Scandal in the late 80s and early 90s.

^ Still doesn't excuse the fact that Ayers is an unrepentant terrorist.

Quote:
They disappeared in 1970, after a bomb — designed to kill army officers in New Jersey — accidentally destroyed a Greenwich Village townhouse, and turned themselves into authorities in 1980. They were never prosecuted for their involvement with the 25 bombings the Weather Underground claimed; charges were dropped because of improper FBI surveillance.

Both have written and spoken at length about their pasts, and today he is an advocate for progressive education and a professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago; she’s an associate professor of law at Northwestern University.

But — unlike some other fringe figures of the era — they’re also flatly unrepentant about the bombings they committed in the name of ending the war, defending them on the grounds that they killed no one, except, accidentally, their own members.
Obama should explain his connections to this man and his wife. I don't want to see Republican attack ads about Ayers (or Rezko) in the fall if Obama does turn out to be the Democratic nominee.

Quote:
It’s also a scene whose liberal ideological features — while taken for granted by the Chicago press corps that knows Obama best — provides a jarring contrast with Obama’s current, anti-ideological stance. This contrast between past and present — not least the Ayers connection — is virtually certain to be a subject Republican operatives will warm to if Obama is the Democratic nominee.

Depending on where you are any poll can be manipulated.I'm pretty sure a majority of people would be for legalization in any area depending on how the question is phrased. My point is that most anti-immigrant campaigns usually target the "working class" & I don't believe that any anti-immigrant campaign has that many people to call-in that failed the last two Comprehensive bills & Dream act.If the next Congress &/or President decide to take up immigration don't you think we'll be looking at the same problem ?

I just think that dealing with poor & lower middle-income US citizens would allow for a more streamlined process in the next immigration debate, but it this is all imo.

Spreading rumors about barack having sex and doing drugs with a male prostitute is just dirty politics to me. You don't see obama supporters going around spreading the rumor about hillary having an affair with one of her female staffers.
