Optimism is always welcome at times like this...lol...

Meanwhile white Americans chose to elect a racist, fear mongering soulless bastard because they thought he was better. What does that say about Americans? The same country I want to be a part of. Yeah, I cried.
I actually started crying for my dad, not myself, because there is a slight possibility Trump and the repubs won't mess with us Dreamers, but may mess with our parents and loved ones.

Hoping for the best.

That optimism again...

With that said, I wouldn't trust USCIS to have my current address.
Ouch, I just pictured Deportation Letters being mailed out en masse...

Not only us Hispanics will suffer, gays, and muslims. I am so scared for this world. Canadian citizenship website is crashed, this is serious. Are we even allowed in Canada??

What a horrible year it has been.
Exactly, its his supporters that you gotta watch out for also.

The need for hope is real at the moment, stay strong.

Be strong and hope for the best.

Keep hope alive, best we got right now.

I'm looking into moving into another country like Canada or UK and the processes are all insanely hard and arbitrarily selective :/

I also don't wanna start over. I have all my friends here. This fucking sucks, man. I didn't want to believe, but this morning it feels all too real.

Truth be told it wasn't just racist rednecks in rural areas that propelled Trump's win. If it were just them I could understand but it was millennials, women (unbelievably), educated whites, Blacks, and even minorities. One third of Hispanics voted for Trump. Hillary got her ass beat because all states that were historically Democratic flipped and voted for Trump. Hell, she barely won Virginia. I have no doubt Trump will build this country economically. His arrogance and intolerance to anything he doesn't care for is the problem.

I couldn't sleep last night waiting for the results. I was fortunate to get my GC a few months ago. But I ache for everyone else. Everyone that has DACA and those who had hope of a path to being legal. I worry about my mom who has to deal with being over worked for so little. I hurt to see her struggle and taking on any job she can take and giving it her all.

If trump cancels DACA would put deferred action and work cards be canceled immediately or would we be affected by not being allowed to renew??

Wait and see.

On another note, I am reminded of an exchange with, I think Iaman, arguing that a Bernie primary victory was in our self-interest. I pointed out: she has historically high-negatives and generated no enthusiasm; he had net positives, did well among rural voters (where Trump doubled her tonight), did well with white males, inspired the base, and generally trended double digits over Trump.

Her turnout tonight among Hispanics, blacks, college educated whites, and younger voters -- the Obama coalition - was lower than Obama in 2008 and 2012. The hype was all bluster - no one was enthusiastic about her.

The disconnect was bothering me the whole time, despite what the pollster declared-- now I wish dearly my suspicions were unfounded..
