My brother's friend same thing left 10+ years ago and got his work visa , it was seasonal the second year he renew it ,the custom officer asked him how many times he has been in the US, he said one and officer told him im giving you one more chance to tell me the truth or i will ban you for life, he told him the truth and let him pass
