Where did you read that it was a 5 year EAD? We don't know what "conditional immigration status" means. Stop spreading lies!

A conditional permanent resident receives a green card valid for 2 years. In order to remain a permanent resident, a conditional permanent resident must file a petition to remove the condition during the 90 days before the card expires. The conditional card cannot be renewed. The conditions must be removed or you will lose your permanent resident status.

thats the generic type of visa status they offer everyone else.

the provisions for the DREAM ACT and other same bills is that they are making a different class of 5 yr conditional PRs for us.

instead of petitioning after 2 years to remove the condition, they will give us 5 years to obtain bachelors or military service to remove the status and change to permanent.

hence, the DREAM ACT and other similar bills is an amendment to the immigration and nationality act of 1965 and immigration reform and control act of 1984.
