Uh, I'm sure you can get your passport at your local consulate... unless you want an American passport overnight?

Like most of us, most importantly, I'd love to travel abroad and have the ability to return back to my normal life without thinking I might not be allowed back in. Want to go to Croatia badly!

It should be uploaded with the bill on the congress.gov. I don't see it yet, so it must not have been updated this morning.

Discharge petition is a move in the house that requires a full majority support to bring a bill to the vote.

Normally a bill is referred to a committee which then can approve it, approve it with amendments, or just let it rot (which is usually the case, majority of bills submitted never get consideration).

After a committee approval the speaker is the one that actually schedules it for a vote, and they can just choose to not to do so.

A discharge petition with 218 signatures "discharges" the committee from consideration of the bill and discharges the speaker from scheduling it. The bill is placed directly on the calendar at the first open spot for bills that come from such petitions.

We have the votes in the senate committee too for Dream Act. At least get it rolling out of there. There are 11 republicans and 9 democrats.

2 of the Republicans are Flake and Graham (Dream Act cosponsors), that gives us 11 yeas. At this point it isn't even obstructionism, it's just the democrats and the few sane republicans doing nothing. You can definitely get Hatch and Lee aboard. Possibly Grassley and Cornyn aboard with some border security as well.

Accidentally double-posted. I haven't had a good sleep in weeks.

Rep. Hoyer speaking today:

@WhipHoyer “I guarantee that every Dem will vote for the #dreamact.” Now it’s up to GOP to do the same

"There is a difference for being for the DREAM Act and voting for the DREAM Act."-@WhipHoyer from MD
