U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) records show that your case is currently pending adjudication. However, we have had to perform additional reviews on your case, and this has caused a longer processing time.
We hope this information is helpful and appreciate your continued patience.

So I'm trying to figure out if my case is the only one being delayed or there is really a backlog going on in general?

Thanks!

I sent (submitted) a service request through USCIS's help line to investigate why my case was taking so long, giving that my previous permits were approved in a two months period.

A week later I got an email (the message you're referring to) "explaining" the cause of the delay.

I hope my answer is clear.

Yeah, I will definitely let you guys know of any change in my case's status.

lol are you guys surprised there is a huge backlog? Even people who expire in 2019 have applied, and USCIS doesnt process them on a first come first serve basis based on how bios were processed.

Nope not at all. It's expected that there will be some backlogs. Just hoping people get their renewals just in time before they expire

Thanks for the input. So you are saying that USCIS works on approvals based on the date that the biometrics were submitted?

Thanks!

Nope. I just doubt they process anything in order. Some people who submitted their renewals later than others got their biometric appt earlier...if that makes sense. I just read someone who submitted his renewal in late January got approved and his card is being produced.

I think they probably throw all applications in a pile and randomly pick one to work on xD

I see, makes sense. I just haven't heard from anyone after September to have received their permits, thus me looking for some evidence.
