For 99% of DACA recipients: the authorization to work and the Social Security card are the only things that matter about DACA. Not protection from deportation.

You take those away and DACA becomes useless to us.

The enforcement of deportation is a joke in the interior of the country. Tell that to the millions of illegals who are living here for billions of years and don't get deported, ever.

If you are illegal here and : 1) you made it out of the border or the airport w/o getting banned 2)you don't commit crimes 3) Live in an immigrant friendly area of the country.

Your risk of deportation is next to zero. You are more likely to catch covid 19 while wearing a mask and having your shots onboard than catching a deportation.

You don't get deported unless you do something dumb like committing a crime or exposing your legal status to snitches and government entities.
I assure you it's not that easy. Undocumented people without protection can easily be picked up if they get too close to the border, run a stop light, etc. In most states they can't even get a driver's license. There would still be some value to having protection even without an EAD.

Most importantly, if you have a final order on your record or have a complicated case and are trying to adjust your status, it's A LOT safer to go forward with your case knowing that you can't be deported.
