We’re there all perfect bills? No of course not, but at least they tried and kept us in the conversation. Biden’s best plan is to “make us a last priority for deportation”. Is this the party we’re supposed be to celebrating? The party of anti-immigration at least has TRIED to come to the table, and the party of immigration is just giving us lip service.

This is just the beginning. When they lose control of Congress this year the Democratic Party is going to go back to finger pointing at the Republican Party and say… “look is not us, is them, but vote for us and this time we promise we’ll fix things for you”

The Democrats are just as complicit as the Republican Party when it comes to immigration. Biden had 2 years to codify DACA and you’re telling me he just decided to do it now? Come on! The signs are there. The Democrats want DACA to end badly just so they can use us as pawns.
GOP also want to use as pawns for more restrictive immigration. Did the Republicans actually try? I saw very little good faith negotiations. And a lot of pretending to want to help, inserting themselves in the negotiations and then adding poison pills that they know Democrats will never agree with.’

Biden can’t codify DACA without Congress.

a more restrictive and well regulated immigration system is good, i wouldn't want my worst enemy to go through none of this crap.

stop putting your feelings first. children and families are dying attempting to cross that border. time to touch reality. i clearly remember walking though that damn desert myself as a kid. "BuT But poison pills" this is not a perfect world with flowers and rainbows. discouraging illegal crossings through that desert saves lives.

DACA is a dead end, might as well end it maybe this will prompt them to create something better. So many people sitting in seats who are anti-amnesty and these are the same people sitting for years.

And why do you think parents are risking the lives of their children? For funsies? No, because they are desperate, and restrictive immigration laws are not the solution. We can't let everyone in, but there are right and wrong ways to go about it.

Fake news. Doesn’t make any sense. The Biden administration’s executive order outlining DHS’ removal priorities has already been blocked by federal courts & the Supreme Court will be hearing oral arguments this fall. So why would they issue another executive order calling out DACA recipients who are already covered under the existing order?

The 5th circuit will affirm hanen’s ruling & then the case will eventually go up to the Supreme Court. The 5th circuit can be cruel & cancel the EADs but Hanen could have done the same thing. Therefore I think renewals will continue & the Supreme Court ultimately decides the case next summer.

Who knows?

Agreed. Let's hope that at the very least, renewals remain in place (affirmation of Hanen's ruling). Let Texas appeal to SCOTUS and we can get as many renewals submitted as possible.

In an ideal world, the Dems end up with a 51-52 seat majority in the Senate and hold the House. Maybe at that point, they will actually accomplish something on immigration. Either way, I submitted a renewal just in case the 5th Circuit advises an "orderly wind down." I encourage those with the financial means to renew, to send it in ASAP.
