In theory, nothing prevents you from doing that, though considering that there's the risk that they might not let you physically into the US, you are better off claiming a significant change in country conditions to get around the 1 year deadline. On the other hand since you've departed the US and are now presenting yourself as an applicant for asylum the 1 year deadline no longer applies if your country of origin is ass.

Definitely line up a lawyer before you do either of those things and have cash for bail and someone to post it for you ready too. Few of you clowns are smart enough to DIY anything more complicated than a marriage AOS.

Not that I am planning on doing that, but was just curious. Just googled the 1 year deadline rule. So essentially if in 2025 DACA recepients lose their abilities to renew their EADs, they could just leave the country for 1 year and than apply for asylum claiming their country is ass, and might be let in with a 5 year EAD. There is hope guys!

ffs the biggest insult right now is people crossing the border and getting let in legally while there are people who have been in the country 20+ years without papers and stuck in limbo.

And here i thought people getting green cards within a couple of years thru some bs work sponsorship was bad enough..

I know it’s not right to knock on other immigrants but like yeah. I’ve been here 30 years. I mean, I should get asylum too. I am originally from Afghanistan and a woman. I cannot go back to that country where women are treated like barely above animals and it is dangerous but I would get denied asylum.

Why don't you apply for TPS? It's a lot more solid than DACA.

Get over it guys, life is not fair, the same can be said about DACAer; how is it fair that in 2012 DACA got some sort of protection and job permtis for certain people while others who had been here longer didn't lol
