From reading that explainer it sounds like you do need to still leave the country, but with the new language in the guidance there will be less chance that you are denied.

This thinking is so dense, man. This literally helps a lot of people.

This prolly wont benefit me but I doubt its "racist"

It is an H1B process that benefits only a small subsection of current DACA holders, not Dreamers.
It seems to exclude DACA holders with two-year degrees or vocational/technical training. This includes nurses, IT professionals, the trades, EMS, early childhood educators, among others that are DACAers or DREAMERS, the majority of which are people of color. So, it find it discriminatory against them.

This is my view based on publicly available immigration and labor stats.

I don't see how going on an H1B is any better for any current DACA holder...

1) You are stuck with your current job and at the mercy for a single employer for several years.
2) If you get let go from your job, you risk being forced into a new and unwanted job because you have less than 60 days to find a new employer otherwise otherwise you have to leave the country as you lose the status.

Besides all of what I said, who knows if you can even have DACA as a back fall once you switch over to H1B.

I hope someone can prove me wrong.

Agreed and there's no guarantees that you will get a GC through the employer.... instead of DACA forever, you could be working at the same employer forever

Also the 3/10 ban is still applicable when applying for a green card

Agreed! And on top of that H1B is issued with caps so it's kind of like a lottery. If you didn't get pick then it's a tough luck then you are out!
