Hello, got my Ssn card today and went to DPS in Spring Branch with my expired license and was told that because it had been 2+ years since its expiration i had to apply for an original license and take both written and road tests So i was there FIVE hours to take the written test, after passing it I was scheduled for the road test in about 2 weeks. Yes, your license will say LIMITED TERM on it...

Wow, that's really awful. I'm sorry you had to go through that

On a similar note, I was reading up on getting a license for the first time. It says that adults 18-24 are required to take Adult Driver Education. Does anyone know about this, and if it's actually required? I really hope not, I was hoping to have a drivers license soon : (

yes, it is a requirement. i know deerbrook mall used to have it, but it had actual driving involved since some don't know how to when going in. however, i believe a friend of mine took it online and apparently it was cheaper. there's a link inside this link http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/driverl...fetycourse.htm for a list of approved adult driver education courses

I did send them a dentist receipt from 2006 though because I knew my 2007 was weak.
Congrats! I also think I might get an RFE since I forgot to include something for June 2012. I also hope that what I sent for this year is enough I sent volunteer awards I received, mail I received, and even a letter saying I was nominated to be in the National Society of College Scholars. If I do get RFE well I would be able to provide more info...should've sent it in the first place. hahaha

I was assigned a number between 900 to 949 as the ticket they give you to be called and on the wall there were different sets of numbers assigned depending on what they were processing. For example, number 1-199 were for renewal applicants, numbers 200-299 were for original applicants, etc etc and my designation was 900-949 for Limited Term applicants. Also the person in the front desk asks to see your documentation, as well as the person who processes your application , and only two windows were processing Limited Term applications and I noticed we were all foreigners.

Thanks for the sympathy lol I was starving and I wanted to kick the lady that took my application 'cause she wanted to send me back home because she said one of my proofs of residence was 'too old,' thankfully I took my SSN card letter and told her she could see the postmarked date on the envelope and the date on my SSN as of last friday so she stared at me but said fine... i was not gonna go home to come back another day after waiting so long -_- Oh i have no idea about adult driver education. I wasn't required that when i first had a license and im 27 now.
