omg awesome, bcuz i have a social and expired DL as well. how many yrs expired was ur DL? ive been stressing that they might make me take the tests again bcuz mine has been expired for over 3 yrs...
did they give you just the paper DL though or they gave you the actual ID right then and there??? valid just 1 year?
one more question, what city is that? i used to go to the dmv in margate.

yeah, i wish. but im glad that they didn't take me to jail! one of the cops kept saying you should just take them to jail and was being a dick but the main one let us go with the tickets or whatever.

My DL expired April of 2010...so about 2.5 years. I think they only make you take the tests again if it's been expired for more than 5 years...don't quote me though.

I got the paper one which sucked because I was so pumped to finally be able to flash my DL instead of my passport at a bar again...#firstworldproblems. They gave me the expiration date of one year from the date my EAD was approved...which was ridiculous. I think the city for that DMV office is Pembroke Pines or Miramar? I used to go to the one on 157th and Pines Blvd before they went all cray and became an appointment-only site.

What a douche the other cop, plus that whole jail thing is more paper work for them, screw that he probably said lol.

Mine expired Aug 2009 lol funny pretty close.
ugh yeah i expected the paper one..so embarrassing and esp the "temporary" in big red letters on ur actual DL..oh well better than nothing and better than using a passport! i never had the balls to go out and use my passport, its expired anyway. ive used my expired DL a few times when i was dragged out to bars by friends and had no choice since i didn't want to out myself, but luckily i had no issues..
man its not fair, ppl in CA got 5 year normal looking DL's! oh well...
ONE more question. how long did it take to get ur ID in the mail? another dap friend said it took about a week to get their permit but back in the day for me they made sure it didn't take any less than 30 days to arrive in the mail! did it used to be like that for you?
