Hey guys I'm new to this thread and I just have a general question, maybe some of you know of a similar case or anything of it...

My brother and I applied around the end of August, their receipt date was September 6. My brother got a letter in the mail today saying his application was transferred to speed up processing time. It was transferred to a service case in Missiouri, its called the National Benefits Center. I was looking online and this USCIS office doesn't deal with I-821D's, I don't want to worry but our applications were sent at the same exact time. Our case number is off by ONE DIGIT. I checked online and my status is the same, while his says it was transferred.

Like I said I don't want to worry but I keep thinking, why was his transferred and not mine? All these crazy things start pooping up. :/

Also, have any approvals been received from that office already?

Have any approvals been transferred to this office?

I remember seeing this lawyer on t.v. that made me literally sick, the guy was promising everything but the kitchen sink.

He was offering this services which people would pay something like $500 and according to him it guaranteed that they would not get deported, it was some sort of made up certificate that he made look like something official, reminded me of a gang, you affiliate to his gang and no one will mess with you.

The guy boasted on the add about helping tens of thousands of cases in his long career, the add went on for hours, certainly not an inexpensive ad.

Looking him up online after seeing that blatant, lie filled add, are review after review of people whose cases were fucked up by the guys ignorance, including people that had been deported, and people that had perfectly legitimate petitions that would have made them into permanent residents now undocumented.

The problem is that a lot of bad immigration lawyers hide behind the law which protects them from being sued for their ineptitude in handling immigration cases, they have immunity to promise whatever, as long as they cannot use the law to protect themselves it is very hard to catch them and it is why you see cases where a fake immigration lawyer has been handling immigration cases for several years and defrauded thousands of victims, of course a lot of people got their cases fucked by those lawyers but the law does not have any real grip.

This is the reason why organizations are creating lists of good lawyers, as well as bad lawyers for people to avoid.
