fuhh i have my driving test this thursday. i am scared out of my mind. i just started driving a few weeks ago, but i've been practicing and i feel pretty confident now. the dmv where i am taking my test is literally a few blocks away from like FOUR ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS, A FIRE STATION, AND NO LEFT TURN LIGHTS WHATSOEVER, FML. lol! i'm freaking out.

how long were your drive tests for? what did the tester make you do? are there any NEW drivers out there have passed?

I took my test at Pomona on Thursday. Went at 3:45 pm. Streets were pretty empty. It was the first time I had driven in the rain, and it happened to be on my test day. Got a really nice lady named Laila (sp?) who was super nice and even chatted with me during the test. Got 3 errors only, and she didn't really even bother to tell me what they were lol.

If it makes you feel better, there are driving schools in the area that for $120 will pick you up, have you drive around the DMV an hour before the test, and then have you use their car for your test. For me, I'm not sure if it was worth the money because the instructor thought I drove well enough and didn't bother to teach me much and didn't even use up the full hour. But if that's something that makes you feel more comfortable, consider that because they show you all the streets around the DMV. But seriously, it's not as bad as you think. Just make sure to take cautious left turns, check your blind spots before changing any lanes (even when you're shifting over to take a right), and being on the lookout for any pedestrians (it's Pomona, after all).

It's not that bad.

I think the written test is harder than the behind the wheel.

Just make sure you STOP BEHIND THE WHITE LINES!

I can't find this anywhere on the DMV site, but how much is it for just an ID? My memory wants to say $27?
