Idk what to tell my company anymore, im still on unpaid leave :/ but they are asking me for the ead to go back
Yes, because they're not losing money by letting me come back later. I'm no on the payroll, so it doesn't matter to them.

I tried reasoning with them to let me back in with the I-797C and email from ELIS showing that my I-765 was approved. They still insisted on the card.

Same situation here - showed them several things: DACA approval letter, screenshot and emails indicating work permit approval and delay of EAD production - still they want the physical card.

We are essentially getting robbed of a month + of the right to work.

This is from today:

The Office of the Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman (Ombudsman’s Office) has reviewed your request for case assistance. Upon review of your request, the Ombudsman’s Office has determined that US Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) is actively reviewing the production your EAD card. If you do not receive the EAD card within 30 days, please contact USCIS at 1-800-375-5283, and please let our office know.

When production of card is usually just 2 days but we've been waiting for more than 20.

Eva02, you're still working cause they haven't brought it up to you right? Just stay positive everyone! I know it sucks but I have seen it take a month for some that got approved before us.

dude, it is hard to stay positive when your management and director are constantly asking for status updates and all you can say is ".....". I can almost feel the tension building in my department at work - and management surely has to wonder how much longer they can continue to support me while on leave, as I am still on the department's head count and thus affecting their budget for the fiscal year.

All because we are dealing with an organization that has zero accountability, shit for brains support and inconsistencies through out.

This shit is ridiculous - any other organization with this lack of oversight would be placed on blast by the media already.

the "we fucked up and you are going to lose your job, but we are not sorry and we wont help you" attitude makes it that much more enervating.

Rant over.

I know it's crazy and even when my employer is accepting my daca letter and EAD peoduction notice, I still have panic attacks from time to time. If the job being held is stressing you out, I'd look for a new one as a "just in case" in the meantime to keep you busy and to keep you up some hope. Praying for you and your comfort.

WOW. Ombudsman got back to you?! It sucks that it's another generic, 30-day message, but at least they got back to you...They never got back to me.

ALSO--
It's really fucking difficult to stay positive when all around me, my friends and boyfriend are living their lives free of this kind of concern. They have the kind of problems that I wish I could only deal with for the rest of my life (e.g. my macro plate delivery didn't come in time, I need to by furniture for my new place, etc...) I remember when I only had that kind of shit to worry about these past two years. I thought that I could finally be normal.

Then this happened. And as accommodating as my team at work has been--they understand that this is all happening beyond my control--I can't help but feel completely unreliable. How can they see me the same way and assign the same weight of responsibility now that they know I can be gone for a month or longer every two years? I'm trying to take this time off as an opportunity to network/apply to other jobs, but I can't help but feel like I'm just going to have the same problems at a different place. What's the point?

So maybe it's working for others, but staying positive is really not fucking working for me. I graduated top of my class, and I'm one of the highest rated people at my level at work. I'm used to having things to do, having a career, and taking care of myself. I can't do that anymore, and it makes me look at myself in a completely different, a much dimmer light. All the fears I had about my future before DACA have come rushing back. I don't know how much longer I can wait.
