If you sent in bank statements then you could include your balance as an asset. Just don't go crazy and have a high amount for asset.

I wold tell the truth and say 50k. But make sure that my expenses go beyond 50k,

In the explanation you can mention car payments, mortgage, school (if any), taking care of siblings, or children ...
