Just eliminate the DV lottery to sweeten the deal. Who gives a fuck about 50k visas that are given out randomly.

Being unrealistically optimistic does not help, either. A bill does not become a law just because the Senate passed it. It has to go through the House and, eventually, the White House. There is no sense of urgency of resolving our issue in the Republican-controlled House. So, realistically, to solve our issue, we do have to move toward the right, unfortunately. But, at the moment, the Democrats are not willing to give any more after the concessions they gave. I know. The Republicans and White House have been unreasonably demanding and refusing to "compromise" (aka my way or highway).

I would warn those cancer patients not to try things that are unrealistic. If those things only drained their monetary resources, why would the patients and their families waste those resources and their time?
