I understand. It doesn't change the fact that it is important for the country and democracy to go through with the impeachment trial.

No. It's important. The president of the US cannot just encourage and facilitate this to happen without any action being taken against him for doing so. There may not be any consequences due to Republicans, but the system needs to be upheld. A precedent of action being taken against this needs to be set for the next jackass that wants to encourage anything similar. End of story.

Waste of time. The system has already been upheld with Biden becoming President. Why do you want a symbolic trial that you know will most likely fail? Complete waste of time.

Impeachment is nothing to Trump... he gives 0 Fs and his base is fired up by it. Why waste valuable time on an impeachment trial when you don't have the Votes.

That energy is better spent on covid relief which greatly improves the Dem chance of retaining the majority in 2022... Now you need to show the people hope, that shit will get done and dems need big Ws to campaign with.

If trump wants to run again... 82M people will stand up and slap his ass back down. Trump is a villain that can fire up the democratic base and keep Dems in power.

And let's be realistic.. Trump is 78, obese, and decidedly unhealthy... do the math.. its not in his favor
