I've been there with my parents countless of times, and you sort of know what's going on, but never for myself.
I think until I get that independence from having a DL just like everyone else I won't feel like the EAD changed me.
Unlike other states where they might have given ID/DL to people, in California you can't do anything without one. Having that restriction of doing whatever you want will be liberating.
It's so weird, that about a month ago I was nervous about my application traveling to the Lockbox. And today I went to the SSA for a SSN. Sort of mind blowing.
