I passed my behind the wheel test last Monday (11/5), and received my dl in the mail yesterday (11/13). Fortunately it's for a full, five year period.

For those that have gone...did the DMV Rep take copies of your EAD?
From reading the DMV website,
Quote:
"Your BD/LP document will be verified

When you start your DL/ID card application, DMV electronically verifies your BD/LP document information with the USCIS. If your BD/LP document cannot be verified electronically, DMV makes a photocopy of the document and sends it to USCIS for verification (secondary verification).

If a secondary BD/LP document verification is necessary, DMV will issue you a temporary license after you pass all the required tests. If the verification takes longer than 75 days, DMV will send you a letter telling you what is needed to complete the verification process and how to complete your application."
I know my rep made a copy of my EAD....

Has anyone gotten their DL from Costa Mesa? I got my paper DL Oct 19 but my driver's license has yet to arrive in the mail. They did say however, that it will take 6-8 weeks for the license to arrive. Compared to some of you guys who has gotten in 1 week, it's a huge difference.

I'm from Arizona and I took my Permit Test at Winnetka, CA since my aunt lives in Topanga Canyon. Passed with -3 wrong answers

Currently, I'm cramming everything since I'd have to go back soon cause i have school Ive missed haha ;_; gladly im only taking one class but my teacher told me i need to get back ASAP for our midterms..

oddly im not nervous for my behind the wheel test on tuesday, I'm enrolled in a 3 day driving school and when I told my instructor I was taking the test on tuesday, he told me that I probably wont pass because I'm a new driver and whatnot haha, but this just made me want to practice more and pass the shit out of it so i can get it out of the way, and he did tell me I learned quick, and I have a grasp of what im doing. CA tickets are pricey, and I really dont want to come back for take 2.

With that said, I know to always signal, check mirrors, check behind your blind spot before you turn and whatnot, but for everyone who passed, any tips out there to a fellow dreamer?
I really, really am determined to pass this, I'm not scared to go in the road but I am scared of failing automatically because of a gigantic mistake ._.;

I really want to practice outside right now but there are no cars available T_T

ALWAYS stop behind limit lines (the white lines before an intersection). When you're gonna make a right turn at a red light, stop behind the white line first, check for pedestrias, and THEN continue to make your right turn, yielding to oncoming traffic. Failing to do so is an automatic fail

Just took my permit test and got -6 haha (barely passed)... applied for my ID too. Hopefully its a one week wait!

Like everyone else said, the rep took my EAD and photocopied the front and back (I guess to put it in their records)

I was in and out the DMV within an hour. I scheduled my driver's test for monday! Ahhhh
