make them with the index cards anyway. The important thing is that you send them and that you feel good about doing the right thing. Plus, you can use the index to write without going down or up and use the blank section for cooler purposes.

Sounds like a plan, thanks

why dont we just send them now?
regardless if they have a break or not. they will still be seen by someone eventually.

and if we send ASAP it only give us a greater number of postcards in.

i bought a pack of 20 stamps today and it was like 8 bucks. and two more for a few index cards put me at about 10 bucks. which i usually waste on random stuff. might as well put it to good use

now what im still a lil lost is who do we send it?

is the list on the previous post the list we should stick to??

thanks.

Hey tiger! we're still starting April 6, and we're sending them the D.C. offices. The first post on this thread has the info.

I posted this in another thread, but I wanted to put it here too:
So a fellow DAP member sent me this message and I told him/her that I was going to copy and paste this for everyone. He/she worked at a congressional office some time ago, and gave me this inside report on what goes on when we fax/phone/mail the congressmen:

I just saw the 8,000 postcard thread. I think it is a GREAT idea! When we received mass faxes, emails or postcards, we really paid attention! We would google the issue and sometimes had to write a memo on it to present the idea to the chief of staff. The whole idea is for us to get every single staffer, field reps, chiefs of staff to know exactly what the DREAM ACT is. Usually interns take calls from constituents or staff assistants so we have nothing to be afraid of. One more thing, every single call is tallied, by way of a spreadsheet. Usually if it's a big issue we'll have two columns one reading pro, one reading con. The staff assistants at the end of the day total up the number of calls and send a nightly report over to the DC office. They let the senator know what its constituency is thinking about a certain issue. We need to do the post card idea, but we also have to call non stop, fax like crazy, email, letters! everything counts. When I was at the office, there was a group that sent over 1,000 faxes in 1 hr for a certain issue, and guess what?, they definitely got the staffers attention. So, all in all, we need to do everything we can. Sorry this reply was so long. Hope this helps.

Wow! That's very interesting. I think for now our focus should be on the postcards but after they come back from Spring Break, maybe we could organize a time when we all send in faxes? Just throwing ideas out there.

Like someone said we are all on this together! The more we send cards the greater the impact! Especially if these cards are coming in large amounts on the same day!

I just have a question would it be better to make this cards by hand or if they were printed instead? Not very talented when it comes to art stuff by hand lol.

Neither am I. So I'm planning to print most of mine and I'm pretty good with a calligraphy pen, so I'll probably write "PASS DREAM IN 09" by hand on a few of them.
