And that's It.

Not amnesty for all other people only the Dreamers that's a GOOD BILL and a good Compromise..
What do you guys think?
Changing the age at all is stupid ffs.

Increasing conditional residency just gives people more to complete a 2 year college education or serve in the military, why give them more time to do it?

5 years permanent residency is the default wait for citizenship unless you are a permanent resident married to a citizen, then its a 3 year wait. Its not like we get citizenship immediately after the conditional period is over!

Only thing I agree with is not being allowed to sponsor family members. Reason I say this is because after DREAM is passed CIR will have more momentum than ever. (lets face it the congressional Hispanic caucus, and other Latinos apposed to "piecemeal" reform will be up in arms about DREAM)

I don't think that it would be constitutional to prevent DREAM-ies turned citizen from sponsoring their relatives. I say this because under the law all citizens have the same rights (gonna go with the 14th Amendment here) -- it doesn't make sense to legally create a sub-class of citizens (and we're talking about some 2-3 million people) who do not have all the rights of regular citizens -- like sponsoring relatives.

Anyway, I just hope that they don't lower the entry-age to lower than 16. The last time I entered it was about 3 weeks before my 16th birthday. If they modify it at all, I'm fucked.

True, can't believe I overlooked that. And I'll be praying they don't change any age requirements. I'm 16, came at age 3 so I am about as safe as can be, but I don't believe the work of the original DREAMers should be in vein. When most of them started their work I was in friggin 1st grade =(

Pass or not I admire the work they have accomplished.

I don't think you can sponsor anyone with Dream and we shouldn't be able to.

Well we are only bound by the DREAM Act until we are full Legal Permanent Residents.

As legal permanent residents we shouldn't be allowed to sponsor anyone, but for those of us who go onto getting our Naturalization should be able to.

You know what, fuck it. This is all frustrating. AH!

I hate that we have to work so hard for something others are lucky enough to be born with.

We should all just be concentrating on the bill passing and not fighting !!!!
This is everyone's LAST chance!! so everyone better have a plan B! even the little 17 year olds...
The point is that the bill WILL NOT pass if Reid continues to be stubborn and refuses any Republican amendments.

I'm just saying it's better to get part of it passed and at least help some people instead of leaving everyone behind.

All of the the posters here can twist and pervert my point of view as much as you want, the reality is that no admendments = no Dream Act for all.

And just to say to you all, I'm a 3.9 GPA student taking 5 AP classes (Gov, Physics, Calculus, Stats, Chem), so just because I'm 17 doesn't mean I don't know anything.

I have a better idea. We start from scratch, and in 10 years we'll have another 17 year old saying we should leave you out regardless of all your hard work.

After all, its better some pass while others don't

*while they say that ICE is raiding your home*

We know the DREAM Act will probably need to be watered down, but ffs the age should be left untouched. Student Visas would just be a big F-U to us after we realize we are required to leave after we finish our studies. =/

coming back is not as easy as some people like to think it is!

Student visas are just a republican sugarcoat to a bigger deport-them-all-without-having-them-realize plan.

You have to remember their point of view, they see us as aliens who believe they are entitled to citizenship.

Student visas are better than living day by day wondering if ICE is going knock on your doors while you sleep.
