I have a cousin who went back home and it has been +5 years. he is doing well. got his own business, wife, kids and prospering. and here i am getting old lol. The only bad thing there is about the country is the political instability, corruption, and safety of life. My DL expires june 2012 and meanwhile i got admittied to a uni and plan to pursue accounting. I am not getting young and immediate family wants me to get married or go back home. I am sure we all have similar issues. Put the hope aside and look at concrete things....anyone feels there is a chance for CIR this year?

USA is still the most stable and least corrupted country on the planet and that is why people still continue to come here.

Everyone is getting old by the numbers. Its how you maintain yourself.

June 2012 is almost a year away. I think DA will pass this year.

You should be happy that you got in the University and have plans.

You should do what is best for yourself.

I think CIR will most likely pass this year.

In all seriousness, you spent almost half of your life in a country that doesn't care about you.

Isn't it time that you start thinking about other options such as Canada or marrying USC?

Do you want greencard that badly? To the pt that you can rest in peace once you have USC?

Whatever you do, listen to DA User. He is like "The Oracle". Whatever he predicts always comes true.

It is the individual's responsibility to take care of him/herself not the country.
Have faith in our Congress. Its a matter of time before DA passes.

Better "standard of living" ,"best place to live" is completely different from "what is the best country" and it's good to make that distinction.

There are other countries that I am afraid that excel even the US in "standards of living". In fact if you look at the Human Development Index, the US ranked 4th in Human Development Index (and it ranked 15th about 4 years ago). Thats high, but there are 3 other countries that have higher standards.

Seriously man I'm definitely thinking of settling somewhere else in the future if this continues happening. Just a matter of time till I make this change.
it may be going down the gutter but my son was born here, my wife was born here... and my new baby on the way will be born here... my home country is no place for them... the way of life is way to hard... here my kids have the opportunity to do anything they want... in my home country they are pretty much told what they have to be... also too much crime, police is corrupted, and the economy is by far worse than here...

I may not be legal... but i sure live better here than i would ever where im from... Make me legal and I would not waste my opportunity to make a even better life for my family... as well as helping others achieve their dreams too.
