Just made my passport appointment at the Los Angeles Mexican Consulate .. the earliest they gave me was September 11th!

Should I wait it out until I go to the consulate to send my package out or should I just translate my birth certificate?

I almost feel like I should try to be one of the 100 who line up at 4am in the morning so I can get it sooner. Or just mail my application with my expired Matricula and translated birth certificate.

i'm only turning in a copy of the birth certificate and a translation, however i have too many ID's. turning in a copy of the passport is a good idea if you dont have many forms of id. GOOD LUCK!!

I have a bunch of high school IDs and my expired Matricula which expired in November of last year. But the appointment date for the passport is quite into next month!

See if they have a mobile consulate in your area.. I called and they tried to give me an appointment in September until I asked for a sooner date and she gave me one for tomorrow at a mobile consulate in my area.

I asked for one, she said none where available. Where are you located?

San Diego has about a 1 week wait for passports. I've heard that USCIS is accepting expired passports. So just have someone translate the BC and sign for it and include your expired passport just to be safe. That should be enough.

I'm in the same situation. My matrica has been expired for years and my stupid passport expired LAST MONTH!

Appts for matriculas start in Sept so I made mine for Sept 12th. Appts for passports start in October. I'll have to go twice but at least I'll have my matricula soon.

I'm still sending my info w copies of the expired matricula and passport. If they want one that's. It expired I'll be able to provide it next month
